evj is an expression of love - an endeavor to capture the ethereal essence of three souls who have touched my heart profoundly. The good, the bad, the awe-inspiring, and everything in between. evj stands as my digital chronicle and photo album. In a world where time marches on inexorably, evj is my rebellion, my stand against the fleeting. I cannot stop time, but with every line of code I etch enduring memories of each of them into my heart, the canvas, and this digital realm.
A three-part, long-form generative algorithm: each evj script is an embodiment of its subject, and each output a vivid translation of that persona, captured in every brushstroke, graphical element, color, and composition.

They are the driving forces behind this artistic venture, each piece capturing the essence of their multifaceted personalities.

composition
Each evj layout is determined by a grid of two randomly chosen horizontal and vertical phi values. Once these axes are set, elements like brush strokes, typography, and graphics are drawn, rotated, sized, and distorted randomly along these axes. Compositional complexity determines how many elements get painted onto the canvas.
typography
Typography is a cornerstone of evj. Every typographic detail is crafted using the Alternate Gothic No1 letterpress set, pressed by hand. These typographic pieces are then transformed into SVG files, and further integrated as vector objects in JavaScript.
brushes and graphical elements
evj is fundamentally rooted in a mix of typography, brushwork, and graphic components. Each artwork is painted by a finely tuned algorithm designed to depict the unique essence of each subject. Embedded statistical anomalies enhance the intricacy, capturing and emphasizing each piece's distinct moments and subtle details.
color
The evj algorithm incorporates ten color palettes, each with a probability that shifts depending on the subject. Every palette is comprised of a hand-curated set of colors, each with varying probabilities. Designed with whimsy, these palettes reflect the character of the subjects and nod playfully to their favorite pop culture references.
