this was never a joke.
it started in a turbulent political season. the leadership on offer felt weak on one side and, on the other, genuinely hard to stomach. i found myself asking a serious question: if i could choose anyone to lead, anyone at all, who would it actually be.
the answer came faster than i expected. erick.
erick is sincere. he is generous. he is empathetic. he wants to help people, and he actually does. everything i would hope for in a leader, he already is. and i say that as one of the many artists who found a home in what he and jeff built, a community kinder than the moment around it.
the honest truth is that i would never wish the job on him. it takes too much from a person, and erick is too rare to spend that way. so the campaign asks for nothing. it only says, 2024 times over, this is the kind of person i believe in.
